Welcome to the Functional Inorganic Materials Design and Manufacturing Laboratory (FIMDEM)

At FIMDEM, we are dedicated to pioneering the development of architectured functional materials by integrating advanced chemical synthesis of micro/nanoscale building blocks with innovative 2D and 3D printing technologies. Our research spans from tailoring the physicochemical properties and many-body interactions of individual building blocks to designing microarchitectures that precisely control thermal, electrical and mechanical functionalities. These efforts are ultimately aimed at enabling next-generation energy and electronic materials and devices.

We are always excited to welcome passionate researchers to our team—especially those interested in 3D printing, nanoscale materials, semiconductor thin film devices and thermoelectric devices. Our work also leverages finite element simulations for device optimization.
